Current Awareness Tools: Table of Contents Alerts

Table of Contents Alerts

Many journals offer Table of Contents (TOC) alerts. Look for links such as E-Alert Sign Up, New Issue Alert or TOC Alert. Some journals require you to sign up for a free account before you can get alerts set up. Others simply ask you to enter your email to get the latest TOC in your email. Here is an example from JAMA Pediatrics.

JournalTOCs

JournalTOCs is a Current Awareness Service (CAS) where you can discover the newest papers coming directly from the publishers as soon as they have been published online.

JournalTOCs is for researchers, librarians, students and anyone who's looking for the latest or most current papers published in the scholarly literature with international coverage.*

Sign up for a free account and add all of the journal titles that you would like to follow.

*Remember, this will take you to the abstract of the paper, not the full text. For the full text article you will need to use the Pratt journal portal or UC e-journals. If you can't find it in either place order the article through our online form.
